Former Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray thinks Tony Romo 'still has something left in the tank'

While former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has traded in his cleats for a microphone over at CBS, former teammate DeMarco Murray thinks he has what it takes to be on the field.

Murray, who left the Cowboys after the 2014 season and now plays for the Tennessee Titans, recently told The Tennesseean: "He's a guy who obviously had a great career in Dallas, and I know he still has something left in the tank."

"But I think he made a good decision for him and his family, and we'll see what happens."

Romo, who's set to turn 37 on Friday, retired from the NFL earlier this month and is set to replace Phil Simms on CBS' in-game A-team.

"I think he'll do great. I think he'll do fine," Murray said.

Murray led the NFL in rushing in his final year with the Cowboys. After a rough 2015 in Philadelphia, he showed signs of bouncing back in Tennessee last season.

And through that all, he still has a high opinion of Romo.

"He's a guy that I was able to kind of lean on," Murray said, "obviously from a friend standpoint, from a teacher, a motivator, all those things, I was able to work with him. But he's a guy who's just a good guy. He's a guy who's a fun guy to hang out with, take trips with. Our families got very close. He's a guy who brings a lot of energy, obviously a classy guy, and he'll be missed around that stadium, that city."
