Cheer on your favorite SEC football team at these official game-day bars in Dallas

Dallas is no doubt a sports town, and there's room for more than just Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars fans.

If you hail from the Southeastern Conference (SEC), as many Dallasites do, here's where you can find fellow alumni rooting on your team at local bars.

The Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama fans include bandwagoners, actual alumni and fans since birth, so it's no surprise that Crimson Tide fans find plenty of friends to celebrate with on game days in Dallas. Grab your jersey and head to Big Al's McKinney Avenue Tavern, the host of 'Bama watch parties for over a decade, and enjoy good beer and good company.

"The atmosphere at the MAT is always loud, especially on game day," said Margaret Ellen Crawford, SMU alum and born-and-raised 'Bama fan. "Definitely a fun destination for anyone who's a 'Bama fan."

"It's been crazy every time I've gone for a game and I love it," Arkansas fan Drew Stevenson said. "Going to Henderson Tap House is a must for any Hogs fan."

The Auburn Tigers

Although Dallas may not boast the biggest Auburn fan base, it's worth it for Tigers to stop by Henderson Tap House on game day. You may see groups in their Auburn Tiger jerseys. Major plus: the bar's "Bottle Poppin' Brunch."

"We watch a game at Henderson Tap House every now and then," Auburn alum Erin Cornell said. "It's a fun place to take our friends when they visit Dallas and we want to watch the game."

The Florida Gators

Stan's Blue Note on Lower Greenville is the official bar of the Florida Gators. Stan's has a neighborhood-feel, and for fans unfamiliar with Dallas breweries, is a great place to try local beer.

Plus, the bar's recent $60,000 renovation features a new fenced-in back patio and an addition to the food menu: Meatball Monday.

The Georgia Bulldogs

The University of Georgia's game-watching bar is Knox Street Pub and Grill in Uptown. UGA's alumni website is extremely informative, with parking information (Armstrong Avenue or behind Mr. Mesero) and specific arrival time (30 minutes before kickoff).

Pro tip: The venue offers $16 buckets of Miller Lite, Coors Light or Bud Light on Saturdays.

 The Kentucky Wildcats

The University of Kentucky's alumni association names Christies Sports Bar the official Uptown game day destination. And since it's in the heart of the neighborhood, expect a lively experience. A recent fan, however, noted the crowd at Christies isn't always in Kentucky blue.

"[I] came in and visited Christie's for the UK/EKU game and I was the only one with a UK shirt on," said Kentucky fan and native, Paula Reed Burdett.

The LSU Tigers

Tigers fans flock to Dodie's Reef, near Blue Goose Cantina on Greenville Avenue, on game day. The restaurant's New Orleans-style cuisine is a draw for Cajun fans. (Just don't confuse this location with Dodie's Seafood Cafe, which is located further south on Greenville Avenue.)

SMU student and Baton Rouge native Jordan Clegg remembers her experience at Dodie's for the LSU vs. Alabama game last year.

"I went with some of my older LSU friends who were in town," she said. "It was very loud and intense."

After a bad play call, the group booed a few unknowing 'Bama fans who walked in. "You know, we had to," Clegg added. "We hate Alabama."

The Mississippi State Bulldogs

Mississippi State fans in Dallas have more than just their Bulldogs to be excited about. Their very own Dak Prescott has shown promise as Dallas' stand-in quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. On college game day, watching the Bulldogs at Humperdink's Restaurant and Brewery on Greenville Avenue is a must.

Mizzou fans and alumni love to gather in Uptown at the Social House to watch their Tigers play football. Even when it's streaming online through ESPN3 (like during the Mizzou vs. Arkansas game), Tigers fans make sure every Social House TV has the game on.

"The alumni guys who organize it all just reserve a section in the back of Social House," Mizzou alum TJ Allen said. Expect "tons of Mizzou people yelling 'MIZ-ZOU' every time we score," he added.

Social House also gives the fans drink deals and the alumni association gives out prizes.

The Ole Miss Rebels

The Ole Miss Rebels have one of the strongest fan bases in the SEC, especially with alumni and Mississippi natives. The team's official game-watching Dallas bar is British Beverage Co., where dozens of Rebels fans gather on Saturdays.

"BBC is a great place to watch the game," Mississippi native and Ole Miss fan Vegas Ott said. "I mean, nothing compares to The Grove on game day, but watching the game with other Ole Miss fans is still really fun."

The South Carolina Gamecocks

Though there aren't too many of them in Dallas, South Carolina fans go to Henderson Tap House on game days. In 2014, it was the official watching bar of the Gamecocks, and not much has changed for 2016. If the game is in the afternoon, hit up happy hour from 3-7 p.m. (Yes, even on a Saturday!)

The Tennessee Volunteers

The Vols fans based in Dallas are not messing around this football season. They take over Pluckers Wing Bar on game days. The restaurant, which began in Austin, offers drink specials on Saturdays.

The Texas A&M Aggies

The Aggies have an intense fan base with an unabashed love of football. So it's no surprise A&M fans have a central location near Uptown in Dallas. The Eberhard is the Aggie go-to game day bar. Check out the restaurant's brunch menu while you're there.

The Vanderbilt Commodores

For Vandy fans, the Nodding Donkey on Thomas Avenue is the place to go. Expect to find a healthy dose of camaraderie.

"I have to say finding Vandy fans in other cities is like making a new best friend," said SMU student and die-hard Vanderbilt fan Caroline Sheridan.
